When you think of Vietnam, do you imagine endless expanses of pristine forest? Long ago that was the case, but over the past 20 Vietnam has experienced a significant rate of deforestation, mainly due to the expansion of agriculture, urbanization, and the timber industry. Uncontrolled deforestation has caused the destruction of habitats vital to many plant and animal species, leading to a great loss of biodiversity and over-exploitation of land.
Together with you, we can reverse this trend! We want to grow a resilient, lush, strong, enduring forest — in short, an iron forest. We will plant trees known for their hard, stable wood, which will form a new green area bordering one of Vietnam’s most important natural forests still intact.
Given the characteristics of the mountainous terrain, with breathtaking landscapes such as natural hot springs, rivers and lakes that provide essential water resources, this forest is an important resource for local communities. In addition to supporting exceptional biodiversity, including many endangered species, the forest will help regulate the water cycle, protecting downstream communities from the risk of erosion and flooding.
By adopting trees in the Iron Forest, you not only help fight the climate crisis and limit biodiversity loss, but also support more than 3,000 local families involved in sustainable forest management and protection. It is a gesture that not only supports the growth of trees, but also the creation of jobs and the improvement of living conditions for the communities involved, who are engaged daily in the fight against climate change. They will benefit from medicinal plants, fruits and mushrooms, bamboo and rattan, which will grow more easily in a lush forest.
