KONE

Grown trees 3021

KONE, founded in Finland in 1910, over the years became a global leader in elevators, escalators and moving walkways, and automatic doors for buildings. KONE provides solutions for the entire life cycle of buildings: from the design and installation of systems to their maintenance and modernization. The goal is to ensure safety, comfort and efficiency to provide the best People Flow® experience, i.e., the flow of people in and between buildings.

In 2023 alone, the organization had revenues of 11 billion euros and had 60,000 employees and nearly 600,000 customers worldwide at the end of the year. It is present in 60 countries with about 1,000 locations. Every day, more than 1 billion people are on the move thanks to 1.6 million units in service, and technicians conduct about 80 thousand maintenance visits.

KONE’s corporate culture is based on the solid principles of safety, quality, innovation and sustainability. It is precisely the ongoing commitment to achieving carbon neutrality that makes KONE an environmentally friendly company. Given the incidence of buildings in global greenhouse gas emissions, KONE continuously invests in the development of smart and sustainable solutions. By 2030, as part of its “Climate and Environmental Excellence Program,” it has set a goal of providing its services with zero emissions, reducing overall pollution by 50 percent.

KONE is working with WOWnature to support reforestation and forest protection projects in Italy, actively contributing to the fight against the global climate crisis and biodiversity loss. The trees that KONE will help KONE grow will go to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), helping to mitigate the excessive greenhouse effect and biodiversity conservation and promoting a balanced and resilient ecosystem, and will be selected by Etifor’s forestry experts to preserve precious ecosystems of Italy’s natural heritage.
