SELGAS was founded in 2002 to bring natural gas to the homes and workplaces of South Tyroleans. Over the years it undergoes corporate and operational changes but what remains intact is its local soul: that of a company that works for the land and for the interests of South Tyroleans. Being born and raised in this land has ensured SELGAS’s enduring success, and it has always sought to give back what it has received in the daily operation of its business.

Maturing in SELGAS, however, is a different need driven by a strong sense of belonging. Being part of an area enveloped in nature, and of which it makes a strength, leads to different considerations. SELGAS feels the need to initiate concrete and responsible actions toward the environment that will have positive repercussions for future generations. Reasons “of the heart” would lead to a myopic view of the issue, but the delicacy and importance of the same lead SELGAS to embrace a broader vision. And that is why in 2024, together with WOWnature, it decided to support two projects where it takes care of forests: Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme and Boschi della Salute. Two places so distant but also so close in their need.

SELGAS’s perspective goes far beyond acting in a respectful way towards society and the environment, it wants to be seen as a responsible citizen and attentive to the needs of the community. SELGAS has thus set out on a path that will see it engaged in growing challenges in the coming years. On the one hand by enhancing the commitment of those more virtuous customers who will want to offset the CO2 resulting from the use of gas from their supplies through these two projects, and on the other hand, by committing itself to a road map to achieve climate neutrality of greenhouse gas emissions. Responsibility toward the environment and the social fabric is no longer an option but an intrinsic part of SELGAS’ mission.
