Tourist Office San Vigilio/San Martin – Dolomites
In collaboration with WOWnature, an initiative to support projects aimed at reforesting green areas, San Vigilio Dolomites has launched a reforestation project to protect the region’s forests, helping to combat climate change and preserve local biodiversity. The initiative involves planting new trees in areas compromised by the presence of the bark beetle, an overgrown insect that is leading to the death of large areas of forest. It is not only the destination’s beautiful landscapes that are being compromised, but the death of large numbers of trees poses risks of landslides and the loss of important habitat for local wildlife. The project is open to the participation of residents and visitors, everyone is encouraged to actively contribute to preserve the protected areas of our territory. San Vigilio, nestled in the Dolomites and surrounded by two nature parks, is thus committed to maintaining its commitment to sustainable development, recognizing the importance of green spaces for the well-being of the ecosystem and the community.
