Biking from Italy to Morocco to support the growth of a new forest on Lake Iseo. This is the challenge recently completed by Ettore Campana, a 29-year-old from Brescia passionate about nature and cycling. The initiative is called “Cycling for trees” and aims to raise funds to reforest the Torbiere del Sebino Nature Reserve, a new WOW area. Ettore wants to plant 200 new trees and has almost reached his goal: he has raised 4,000 of the 5,000 euros needed to make this grand gesture. If you would also like to join this challenge, you can support him with a donation.
How the challenge went
His adventure, presented at European Mobility Week, lasted more than a month and we are proud of Ettore for giving his best as an ambassador of the ideals we share. We quote his words, which best describe his amazing journey, “The Cycling for Trees project and my adventure from Brescia to Marrakech were two wonderful experiences. I crossed 6 countries, exploring the true essence of each. Besides the physical challenge, I wanted to spread an important message: the urgency of taking action to protect the Planet through Cycling for Trees. To date, we are very close to the goal, and that is why I invite you to make a contribution to go reforest the Torbiere del Sebino, a key area for biodiversity in Lombardy”.
L’entusiasmo di Ettore è contagioso, vero? Come ci ha detto all’inizio del viaggio “alle volte, bisogna solo essere un po’ creativi e trovare la scintilla giusta per farci scattare e renderci protagonisti del cambiamento”.
