Reforestation event in Lio Piccolo: plant a tree in the Venice lagoon

The Venice Lagoon is also threatened by several factors, such as pollution, climate change, erosion and subsidence.
For this reason, it is important to protect and enhance this natural and cultural heritage through concrete and responsible actions. One such action is to plant trees in the lagoon to help improve air, water and soil quality, as well as create habitats for fauna and flora.
WOWnature invites you to participate in the new tree planting event in Lio Piccolo, which will be held on November 25, 2023 from 10:45 am to 12:45 pm. This is a unique opportunity where you will be able to get your hands in the ground, or rather in the sand, and bring new plants to life.
Adopt a tree in Venice
Here’s how to do it:
- – Adopt or gift a tree
- – You will receive an email invitation to the planting event that you can attend with friends and family
- – Wear comfortable clothes, sneakers and gardening gloves.
The trees we plant will be chosen from species native to the lagoon, such as tamarisk, juniper, blackthorn, sea buckthorn, and poplar. These plants are adapted to the brackish conditions of the lagoon and have several environmental benefits. The trees will restore the ancient lagoon fish valley system.
