MORE THAN 51,000 TREES PLANTED
Together, we have planted more than 51,000 trees in Italy and abroad. We are making many regions greener: Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Trentino and Sicily.
We have launched the first area in Tuscany, Five Oaks Forest. Soon we will expand our areas abrad! But we are not the only ones who need trees, in fact we are proud to continue the reforestation of two districts in Burkina Faso and Huong Son Park, Vietnam.
1100 PEOPLE PLANTED THEIR OWN TREE
To keep all the fun for ourselves would be selfish. Therefore, we like to share the plantings with you. During the year, we met more than 1000 nature enthusiasts who came to plant their trees. If you didn’t know, we at WOWnature give people the opportunity to plant adopted trees with their own hands. It is a unique experience that we invite you to try at least once!
THE FIRST FOREST DESIGNED TO BE ACCESSIBLE
For us, reforestation is not a game of Risk, but we do care about innovative projects aligned with the needs of the communities that will experience them. Together with the Emma Onlus Foundation and with the support of Volksbank , we brought Moranzani Forest to life. It is the first forest designed to be accessible to people with disabilities, blindness and low vision. It is growing in Mira (VE), above what used to be a corn field. It will serve as a buffer to protect the Venetian hinterland from the lagoon’s industrial zone. Tourists will also be able to appreciate the forest, which skirts part of the route to admire the area’s Venetian villas.
12 NEW FORESTS FOR BIODIVERSITY IN LOMBARDY
In 2022, an ambitious project started in Lombardy. We are talking about BioClima, an initiative involving 12 forests where new trees can be grown and existing ecosystems protected. The goal is to expand habitats to preserve biodiversity and improve ecological connectivity. Pollutants, unsustainable management, crop abandonment, and especially the effect of the climate crisis are threatening delicate ecosystems. You can adopt a tree or protect existing forests, going to preserve wetlands, high altitude habitats, grasslands and local wildlife.
