The project to create the Food Forest in Casale sul Sile aims to develop a natural ecosystem on a 1-hectare plot of land, with the objective of promoting biodiversity, improving the quality of the environment and providing benefits to the local community. The forest reproduces the dynamics of a natural forest, providing habitat and nourishment for local fauna and pollinating insects.
The project, implemented in collaboration with the Terra Madre Association, is not limited to the environmental aspect, but takes on a strong educational value. The educational activities for children aim to raise awareness of biodiversity and the importance of protecting the land. This synergy between nature and learning makes the Casale sul Sile Food Forest a place of discovery and ecological awareness.
From a technical point of view, the project involves the planting of numerous native plant species, including hornbeam, oak, ash, hazel, linden, hawthorn and elder, as well as fruit trees such as apple and blackthorn. These carefully selected plants will form a lowland oak-hornbeam forest, enriching the area both in terms of vegetation and ecological connections.
This project represents an important step towards enhancing the Casale sul Sile area, offering not only an ecological enrichment, but also a place for education and sociality, where nature and community can grow together.
