Long ago, the Po Valley was covered with forests and woodlands. Nowadays, to make room for human activities, forest areas have been drastically reduced. Fortunately, however, a number of projects have been implemented in recent years to recreate what was once the typical environment. Thus, in Quarto d’Altino, not far from the Venetian coast, Bosco Le Crete was born. Today it covers an area the size of 10 football fields, where you can cycle along numerous paths in the shade of oaks, elms and ash trees, while listening to the melodies of the different birds that populate the area.
This forest is part of Associazione Forestale di Pianura (Lowland Forest Association).
