Bosco della Panarotta
In an area famous for its spas and stunning views of Valsugana, we find the Panarotta Forest. After Vaia’s devastation, we are repopulating it with species selected for its well-being.
On the south side of the Lagorai mountain chain, in Levico Terme (TN), we run into the Panarotta Forest. Many trails run through the wood and lead toward Malga Masi and the peaks of the area: Panarotta and Fravort. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Valsugana, a GSTC-certified tourist destination for sustainability. The Panarotta Forest was damaged by extreme weather, the Storm Vaia, which changed the landscape of many Alpine valleys and forests forever.
This forest, like many others, could do little to withstand the wind gusts that uprooted hundreds of trees, mostly spruces. The windblown forest was composed by a few species, with a predominance of spruce. By adopting a tree in the Panarotta Forest, you can help it grow stronger, healthier and more resilient than ever. Our project aims to increase the forest biodiversity by planting local trees and shrubs: larches, spruces, beeches, maples, poplars, birches, rowans, hawthorns, and elderberries.
The species choice is functional for the rapid restoration of forest cover so that the forest, which is important for the services it provides, can be enjoyed again. In fact, in a short time it will return to provide sediment retention, slope stabilization, and many other ecosystem services. Adopt a tree in Panarotta Forest and help us make it stronger and more resilient than before!
